Case study 1
Powering a global retailer’s worldwide expansion.
When one of the world’s largest retailers – with thousands of stores and a supplier network of over 20,000 – needed to drive significant private label growth, they turned to Opal BPM. Coming to us for a single, worldwide solution to manage their private label specifications, artwork approval and suppliers, they then leveraged our multi-market regulatory knowledge to make it all happen.
Setting the standard
With ambitious international revenue targets in place, our client sought significant growth of their private label portfolio in the US and beyond. However, in-house systems – from manual processes to legacy technology – were holding back the controlled expansion of an effective private label program.
Seeking a single, standardized view of their vast supplier base and portfolio of products, the retailer then intended to leverage that knowledge across multiple regions and harness greater value from data. This called for the support of a global partner, with strength and depth of expertise and knowledge of the regulatory framework across multiple markets.
Making an impact
Our team delivered the complete mix of services to build a robust framework for private label launch, development and growth, now and in the long term. Standardizing procedures, systems and data, we helped implement a ‘global gold standard’ which also took account of local market considerations.
Meanwhile, we offered bespoke support to create middleware and enterprise integration value, while our consultants and advisory team ensured that the solution will evolve with the business.
Getting real results
Working in close partnership with Opal BPM, the retailer now uses an enhanced system to manage their complete global private label portfolio, working with over 20,000 suppliers across four continents.
Able to quickly identify, audit and approve suppliers, the system enables more effective communication, with dedicated helpdesk support to ensure smooth on-boarding, align processes and maintain positive collaboration.
To enhance compliance, the system is also used to receive and agree product specifications, approve artwork, make legal checks and ensure safe, on-time launch, in line with regulatory and brand standards.
