Streamlining packaging artwork across the US.
When one of North America’s leading arts and crafts retailers needed to digitize their creative services process for packaging across thousands of products, they partnered with Opal BPM to identify bottlenecks and transform speed to market using Opal artwork, business process management and artwork approval software.
Tackling delays head on
With over 20,000 SKUs to approve and bottlenecks in largely inefficient, manual processes to address urgently, our US retail client sought a complete digital overhaul, with the goal of speeding up packaging artwork approval times, reducing time to market and lowering the risk of labelling errors.
An automated, streamlined framework
Working together in partnership, we drove process efficiencies by implementing the robust framework of Opal’s artwork tool. We also worked to remove manual tasks across the board – from email tracking to managing print-outs – at both the retailer itself and across the supply chain. With all tasks now fully automated, the artwork approval process has been streamlined dramatically.
Thanks to our in-depth consultancy and software expertise, a full two weeks has been shaved off the artwork proofing and approval process – a 40% time saving – making the retailer significantly faster to market and better able to respond to the latest consumer trends.
Achieving more with the same internal resource – and with more accurate KPIs in place to improve supplier performance – the retailer is now able to create new lines and launch new products without increasing headcount. And when it comes to quality control, the retailer now has complete visibility of the artwork process at all times, helping identify errors and improve accuracy.
